99 chevy k3500 stalling

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay guys I'm a new member long time reader.

what I have is a 1999 Chevy k3500 6.5 turbo 139,000 miles. stock motor as far as i can tell with an k&n filter on it. Fuel filters were changed 15-20,000 miles ago this truck is my daily driver with the occasional heavy tow about every 2-3 months. I have my egt, trans, boost gauges.
all gauges read normal. i have no check engine light on.

It stalled three times in the last month with 5 times yesterday. when it was running everything felt fine, good acceleration, even between the time it was stalling.

the stalling has happened idling after accelerating no know trigger. To me it sounds like a pmd but before I spend the 500 for a PMD and relocation kit from Kennedy’s I thought I would ask for advice

it wont let me edit the post. bur after rereading the post the stalling time was confusing. it has shut off at just plain idle twice, while driving a few times, its just an abrupt running perfect to nothing. is that the best kit to get or is there a better/cheaper one that will last. just looking for any other opnions.

I had the same issue with a 98 I had. After spending a lot of money on stuff I didn't need it turned out to be a bad ignition switch.

So I changed out the fuel filter again . The weather has been a littke cooler amd it has been running fine for a few trips. Took kt out yesterday morning didnt makemit past the end of the road maybe 3 miles before it shut off 4 times restarting after a min. Parked it for a day and then needed a truck to get a bumper from the junkyard and it ran fine for a 50 mile trio. Wth. Only code that cam up was p1216. Which said air innthe system. Which im assuming was from the filter change.. I took the complete fuel bowl out and clened it with brake cleaner.. there wass some crud in it. Dont think it was recent. But I didnt look that hard when I reolaced it 20000 miles ago. Just switched filters.

P1216 Fuel Solenoid Response Time Short
This is not air in the system code,it induicates trouble with the PMD/FSD or PMD/IP harness, something that seldom ever throws a code but this is one of the codes that can appear.

The fuel solenoid has no way whatsoever to identify air and I wish people would stop saying this is an air in fuel code, there are codes that identify air in fuel, but not this 1 by itself.

Please pay attention to the year of the vehicle-for 96 and newer the OPS is seldom ever a factor in the LP not running, the LP relay and ECM are the main power supply for the LP in those models-ops is only a backup power supply.

PMD on amazon is only about $120,add a heatsink, extension harness and resistor and you are still less than $200.

All electronic IP owners should carry a spare working PMD anyway.
