Default Need info on swapping

Hey, I have a 1993 7.3 diesel and it has an automatic transmission in it and I was wondering how much it would cost me and also how hard would it be for me to switch it to a manual? I'm not the best with how everything works. It's my first vehicle and I'm tired of not being able to shift. It would be greatly appreciated if somebody could help me on this information

The swap itself is not that difficult, if you are capable of pulling a trans and doing a clutch job you should be all set. Now for the hard part, you will need a ZF 5 speed for a 4x4? if so it is going to cost you around $1,000 (cheaper if it's 2wd) just for the trans your transfer case will bolt up if you have one, side note most of these transmissions need to be rebuilt so you might be better off buying a rebuilt unit, they have problems with the reverse gear and 3rd gear. You will need to find a pedal set out of a 92-97 f-250 or 350 or a pedal set from a 92-96 f-150 or bronco, unlike earlier fords you pretty much have to disassemble the dash to change these pedals just take your time. The only other thing aside from a clutch and flywheel you will neeed is a clutch master and slave with the hose. If you had to purchase all of these items separately I could easily see you spending close to or more then $2,000. If you could find a wrecked truck or parts truck you will be better off. The transmission and clutch have to be from a 7.3 diesel (460 will work with minor modifications) p.s. you might have to lengthen or shorten your driveshafts. I have done this on many trucks it's not that big of a deal just make sure you get everything togethor before you start the project. Also this is a really good time to do a rear main seal and if needed oil pan.
