Default Stuck in Oregon... those 16.5" rims.

I had decided not to trhough in the spare, because it was flat. I found a hole in the sidewall.

On the road. Started getting a vibration about 70 mph. After I slowed down, there was a pronounced wobble. Pulled over-- Big bulge in my left front tire. Broken belt? (33x12.50x16.5)

Just outside Portland (Clakamas?), found a Firestone tire shop... After I explained I was from out of town and on the road... ne called one of his competitors, to ask them if they had a Tire that size. The did, but I would have o get across town before they closed... Portland commuter traffic. Got there just as they were locking up. Said they had already shut off the compressor... And I had to wait until morning. I asked for the nearest Motel.. and thats where I am now.

So what sizes have you all migrated to from 16.5" rims? It is getting ridiculous trying to find these any more! I guess I should see if they have 2 to carry one back home for my spare... or just bite the bullet and change rim sizes... to some unknown size? I remember the last two were $250 each.

For the moment, this is not the time to change all my rims and tires (in the middle of a trip)... Not while I'm trying to get to my step-daughter's wedding.

I run 17s and can find them just about anywhere.
