Default high presure oil pump

I have a 95 of a friends here at shop, they put a new high pressure pump in.It was not running before, now it runs, but if it sits a few days will not crank. He said he can fill the oil pump with oil and it will run.If you drive it every day its ok,any thoughts? thanks richie

You put an oil pump in it from a 96+, you need one built for a 95
