It must have threatened him and his family . Whatever his reason was, it was still not a good idea. Comes right back to common sense, or in his case, the lack thereof. BUTyou ask a valid question..............

Ditto......... I only shoot my pellet rifle in my yard, as I have a 2 acre lot. Target shooting small steel plates swinging on a frame at the bottom of a 6 ft dirt berm (30 yard shots). This berm is also used as a back-drop for my archery targets. Behind my property is a rather large crop field. Never will I consider firing a firearm in my area, unless I have to justifiably defend myself or my family. Im still in the city limits, in the unincorporated part of the city, but nonetheless in the city limits.
What he did is just plain nuts, and he deserves what he gets. I sincerely hope he doesnt seek representation from NRA or the like, to defend his irresponsible action(s). His action is, in my opinion, a slap in the face to all responsible gun owners, even moreso if he has been educated in Firearm Safety /Hunter Safety. This adds creedence to his negligence.
Its another black eye to OUR 2nd Amendment.

OK, I'm gonna get off my soap box now, and have a beer...........

Hope I didnt **** anyone off with my rant.
