12valve truck converted to a 24valve
Hey guys few questions I'm in the process of building 2 trucks I plan on putting a 12v in a 84 ford f250, but I also have a 97 dodge 2500 that had a 12 valve in it originally and I was just wondering if it would be to much of a pain in the butt to put a 98.5 24 valve in it I know you would have to change the wiring but do they sell kits for that? And will the motor mounts line up or will there have to be some modifications there to? Anything will help guys ready to get these projects done
What yr is the 24v if it is the 2nd gen 24v motor mounts will set perfec in any other 2nd gen body. Motor mounts would be your last worry. Easiest would be a 24vppump conversion. Just because u wont have the wiring headache

It's a 98.5 24v 2500 truck I need a few body parts off of it so I was gunna pull the motor and tranny and throw it in my 97, now could I use the wiring off the 24v and wire it to the 12v wiring? Or will I have to change the dash in my 97 to the 98.5 dash or does it not make a difference

What else will need to be changed? Intercooler? And it has a 2WD ttruxk so what transfer case will I need for a 98.5 motor with the same factor tranny in it

Ok so your 97 you should go P-pump 24V and the wiring in the 97 would be super simple to set up .. as it is already set up for a 12V ... the difference being the the 24V with a p-pump does require new lines and a p-pump ... other wise the truck should be a easy go ahead ...
97 and 98.5 not much was change so your Charge air cooler, radiator, all that's gonna be the same ..
same t-case was used in most of these trucks ... if the trans is the one that came out of the 97 .. its a super simple swap

no. it won't work. you can't put a t-case on the back of a 2wd tranny. when i was looking to do an auto. to manual swap i learned that i had to have a 4x4 trans. you could swap the 24v into the 12v truck and use the 12v trans. and t-case.
this is where i got he was wanting to put the t-case behind the 2wd tranny. It won't work. I guess you could divorce mount it and make it work.
