Fuel leaks
Hey guys. I got a 1994 K1500 6.5lTD
For about 2 months now I have had a very slight diesel leak, yes I realize that is a long time to let a leak go untouched but I haven't had the time, it leaked very little and it hasn't affected the way it ran. Just recently(I'd say within the past 5 days) the leak has intensified from a slight drip to a fast drip for about 3-5 minutes, and my truck has started to act really odd when starting up. It idles roughly and tried to die the first 5-15 seconds its running, it has almost a perfect sequence with the way it roughly idles, almost 1.5-2.5 seconds of idling fine, then it will sortof 'bog' down and die sometimes, during this 1 second bog it will blow white smoke. It ONLY leaks when the truck is off.
Today I pulled the filter housing and checked to see if I could find anything. Pulled all the visible rubber hoses and ghetto pressure tested them, pulled the fuel heater off and the oring seems fine, along with the water-in-fuel sensor. Made sure all the clamps were tight and put her back together. Got the air outof the system and she still idles wierd, and leaks just as much if not more. My hands are tied and I'm about done with this damn truck.
any help is appreciated. -Rhett
