Default OFFTOPIC 1989 pace arrow motor home rear axle for trailer?

Ok im wondering if I can use my rear dually axle for a trailer. my friend said it could not be done because I would have to regear it. any one ever heard of this? thanks for y'alls help.

Are you talking about using it for a tow behind trailer or you talking about a tandem axle and using it for a trailing axle? Either way, regarding only would be neede if a drive line is attached. Because then you'd get axle binding. Were the axles fight each other because they're trying to go two different speeds, till something breaks.

I was thinking a single axle trailer. I'm going to use the camper frame for the trailer. I'm going to cut the front end off and make a goose neck out of it. So I would be able to use it like this. I've never done a camper axle to make a trailer. Just mobile home axles.

Why would you have to regear it for a trailer, you're not gonna be puttin power to it. People make trailers with truck axles all the time, just make sure you keep gear oil in it.

Then what Tire said, you have no power to it so it can be whatever gearing you want, just keep it full of oil because you don't want it seizing. But since it's not a drive axle ratio don't matter.
