Ok I have a 99 6 speed cummins with the 24v some things that have been done to it are 5'' exhaust, Schwitzer turbo, complete Fass system, injectors ect ect! I noticed my starter making a slight noise the other day when starting it and I was gunna replace the points in it but I turned the truck off later in the day and the starter acted like it went completely out making terrible noises when I went to start it again! I got under the truck and there was 1 bolt missing and all of the rest wear super loose so I tightened them up as best as I could to get home but still made the same noise and couldn't start! I believe I just burned through the starter and replacing it will take care of the problem.....? Correct?

 

Is the noise like a grinding buzzing noise ?
