Ram 1500 diesel swap
Hi guys. I have a 1999 dodge 1500. It is a 5.2 liter manual 4x4 and it is a great truck. It gets 12 mpg though and i would like to do a diesel swap. The truck is in great shape and has low miles so i do not really want to sell it. So my question is 6bt or 4bt? Either way i go i am going to do a mechanical engine so the wiring is not an issue. It is not going to be used for towing or racing. What all would i need to do with the 4bt and 6bt? Which would be cheaper and easier to do? Thanks for any info
Theres a guy that just swapped a 4bt into a 1500 sport ext cab its awesome and he said he was getting 18-20mpg its a 5 speed and he said it was actually a really simple swap just the 4bt's in my neck of the woods are kinda pricey!! Good luck though either way you'll have a sweet ride!!
