Default Fuel heater questions

I had an issue a while back the last cold spell, my truck would not start. It's doing it again, I heard the fuel heater may be the problem. I've never replaced it, any special tools, and what size fuel line is between that and my lift pump? I don't see any crack in any fuel line, I've looked on youtube about replacing it, and there's only the 96 and newer. Mine does not look like it bolts to the LP, I'm running fuel treatment, got good FP, fuel tank of fuel, it is 2 degrees here, I just replaced my fuel filter a couple weeks ago, no leaks anywhere, no diesel smell. I hate this f@cking weather. Any info is always greatly appreciated, stay warm fellow bombers.

Well my truck still seems froze. It just seems weird, in weather above 15-20, never an issue. This is the 2nd deep freeze where I'm at and the 2nd time it won't start. Guess I wait till it thaws out.
