Default HELP: Starter shorting out

2001 f250 7.3....Sitting in line at the drive-thru the radio shut off, headlights dimmed/flickered, and I noticed a burning smell. Shut the truck off, and found the starter had shorted out. This was a 100% new bosch starter installed less than 2 weeks ago. I had the truck towed to a mechanic who installed a 100% new motorcraft starter, that one shorted out on the first turn of the key. Has anyone else run into this problem? / How did you fix it? The truck is now at a different mechanic b/c the first said he wouldnt be able to fix it, is there anything quick I should check for that could be causing this issue while I am there this afternoon? I am located in Morgantown, WV.
