Yeah I bet he's in some hot water right now too. Probably why the video is shut down. Same thing goes with the 80% ar lowers. You can buy those cheap but you better not finish the machine work until you've been approved and issued a serial to put on it.

 

A person can build a fire arm from scratch for persoal use without a license but the issues come from when you go to sell if I recall corectlly don't quote me but if you build a firearms you can only sell one a year without a manufactures license

 

You are correct. No FFL needed as long as you're using a legit receiver to start with. If you are starting from scratch or with a non serial receiver (80% ar lower) no FFL is needed as long as it's for you but it is illegal unless the ATF has approved your build and issued you a serial number to put on it. Any firearm without a serial registered with the ATF is illegal and not worth the possible consequences no matter how cheap you can build it.
