Default 5.9L12valve Cummins defective fuel filters

I have recently had a series of fuel filter and fuel sensor failures on brand new parts both OEM and after market. Including the gasket blowing, Fuel sensor O-ring failure and leakage, and the most recent is the fuel sensor screw housing on the fuel filter cracking and dumping 30 gallons of diesel out on the road in little over 100 miles.

Has any one had any problems with filters recently?

I've never had a leak from a sensor failure. I have had a few fuel filter gaskets fail (three Fleetgaurd and one Napa), but I never lost 30 gallons before figuring it out. I left a three foot wide trail of fuel through four towns one day, and it cost me five gallons. Oh- that particular time was when the bolt that holds the housing together broke. Easy fix at the nearest hardware store. I suggest anyone still running the stock filter setup get a spare of that bolt and keep it in the truck. I've heard that the filter housing is known to crack though, although I've never actually seen it.

It was after dark and I was doing 80mph down the highway. I did not look in my rear view much. When I did roll to a stop some one pulled up and said they saw from behind. If you are in town driving it is very apparent. I had a Mopar filter fail the gasket blew out of the housing. At high way speeds it is tougher. Any suggestions on what parts perform best?

I haven't been let down by Wix yet.
I only found out about my leak when I went to make a right turn and the *** slid out from the rear tires rolling through my own spill. Ended up cinching the housing together with a ratchet strap to get back to the shop...

I have always just run the "high end" wix filters. never had an issue with them whatsoever.
