Default 1985 chevy k20 diesel build

Hi I have a 1985 chevy k20 with a 350 and a turbo 400 auto tranny. I am wanting to get a Diesel engine to put in it that will directly bolt up to my automatic tranny I have now so I don't have to shorten my driveshaft. I don't have alot of money to build it so I need to find a Diesel engine for cheap that will bolt to my Tranny. Any help on this build would be very appreciated!

I would suspect a same-year-era 6.2 or 6.5 would be da shizznit for direct bolt-up. And, PROPERLY built, they are supposed to be a lot better than their out-of-the-factory IMPROPERLY built reputation. Seems like the big difference was better-quality head studs, but, you'd better verify that. I'm not a GM guy, and I don't play one on TV.

im thinking the same thing geddy is. but i would go on 73-87chevytrucks.com and ask them there. after you get that info come back to here and ask about building one up.
