i have a 1987 f250 lariat, with the 6.9l diesel and the borg warner 4 speed. once she warms up, maybe 10 minutes of driving, i can't get it into 1st, and i can only get it into 2nd when its rolling forward, the gears dont grind it just feels like somethings blocking it from going into gear. and it will not go into reverse unless i put it in gear before i start it, otherwise it'll just grind. im thinking its my clutch but i dont know where to start.

 

syncros are toast .. change ur fluid to a gl-4 ..... like redline standard transnission gear oil ... i use it and its awesome

 

damn, why do i get the feeling that this is gonna cost more than i had hoped? but thank you! now i know where to start!

 

go to a junk yard and look for a T19 ( thats what you have ) should be manny in broncos and f-150's and such ... there all over and there about 200 or so the last one I beat into not working for me anymore .......
