I need a gun I want a 45 but I want something that has a full handle and doesn't cost to much so I can shoot around ever now and again and then use it If I need to

 

I would start with a RUGER MARK II .22LR, you'll learn from shooting this gun & ammo is cheaper so you'll practice more.

 

You can't even find .22LR around my parts. If you do it is way over priced.



@ the OP I suggest looking into a Glock.

 

If you must start with a 45, get a 1911

 

Martin, good 1911's are far from cheap and a pita to take apart and clean. Glock is the only way to go for ease of cleaning and they will always function.


Don't get me wrong I love 1911's but good ones come with a heavy price tag.

 

U can get a rock island 1911 for 400 to 550 new and they are great I have never had a failure with mine nor have I ever heard of any they are reasonably accurite too.they are not a springfield or kimber they don't have any frills just a good inexspencive gi grade 45 I highly recomend then for a first 1911
