I have a 95' dodge 2500 4x4 with the V10. I threw a rod in the v10 yesterday & have found a few 5.9 12v cummings motors. How bad of a job is the conversion? What major things do I need to do to be driving again? Will my automatic trany hook up/hold up? New motor mounts? Radiator, inner cooler, computer, fuel lines? I'm kinda ignorant & could use all the input I can get...please & thank you

 

A conversion can be done, but there are some issues with it.
The tranny is electronic and wouldn't be able to communicate with the engine since it's mechanical.
It may be possible to use the radiator.
The motor mounts may need changed to fit the cummins
You don't have an intercooler or (air to air) on your gas motor.
The current computer won't work with the cummins 12valve since it's mechanical.
And the fuel lines may be to small to use with the cummins.
The result is it could be a big job to do the conversion.
