Default SCT and my EGR delete??

Ok I just had my SCT plugged into my truck and was reading through the setting and I have my EGR deleted. I didn't do the delete myself and the shop that did my delete order my SCT tuner and programed my truck. My question is this. When I got to the part where my tuner asked me if I had a EGR the setting was turned to ON. IS THIS RIGHT?? I didn't know and switched it to off and my my truck runs quite a bit stronger now. I also adjusted my shift hardness. Other than that those where the only changes I made and like I said the truck runs a lot stronger now with no CEL. Any thoughts, comments or questions would be great I am just learning the right and wrong ways of doing things mostly by myself.
Thanks...

What model SCT are you using?? Some SCT's use "canned" tunes from SCT. Other companies will sell SCT tuners and write you custom files. My 2004 never showed a code or CEL with a EGR delete.. My 2006 will throw a CEL in a second with an EGR delete.

I just had a tuner installed and am waiting for the custom program. What does CEL refer to or stand for?

Either or. Just buy custom tunes after you buy the sct because if you continue to mod your truck you'll need to change the tunes around so it'll just make you more familiar with how to do it yourself once they send it to your email.
