Ok guys.......I have owned a 7.3 and 6.7 Cummins. Now looking at a 2009 F250 6.4l. I've heard some nightmares about mpgs etc., but hopefully the motor is better than the 6.7 pre delete. Post delete 6.7 Cummins is a beast. The truck I'm looking at has a clean car fax and has had the fuel pump replaced at 91k. Truck currently has 93,313 miles. One owner.......I plan on deleting ASAP, but anything I should look for before purchase to clue me in on any problems that are being covered up?

 

Maybe see if your fuel pump(s) have been replaced as well as the radiator since the Rad's were a problem early.

Delete DPF/CAT/EGR as quick as your wallet will allow

a 09 shouldn't have any problems with the rad i would say check to see if it was maintained properly, look for rust underneath if it was kept clean whoever had it before you i would think changed the oil and fuel filters on time but thats not for sure. smoke outta the tailpipe on startup or hard starts are very uncommon with these that would be a sign of problems and the tranny if thats hurtin the truck was run hard. but the 6.4 is an animal tuned and deleted you won't be disappointed
