47re filler tube leak?..

Default 47re filler tube leak?..

Hey guys ive had this problem with leaking tran fluid so i went out and got a new cummins trans pan reusable gasket a new filter and refilled her with some fresh valvoline synthetic atf 4 well i came out side this morning and the damn thing is still leaking but it seems to be coming from the filler tube... is there an o-ring or something in there i dont understand why it would just start leaking now.. any ideas has anyone else had this issue idk if i should order a new tube or if i should just gooup it uo with some jbweld or something.. any ideas?!

Most filler tubes have an o ring although I've never looked at one from a Cummins truck.

Yours should have a oring or (rubber sock about 3/4 to 1" long) looking seal on the filler tube. depends on if it has updated filler tube or not.

it will have an O-ring about and inch from the bottom of the dipstick/filler tube ... and what ever ya do do not JB it in ... if you have to pull trans you will be really sorry .....

been real busy havent had any time to jump on the computer but that same day i went out and pulled the stick the o-ring lookd fine but i replaced it with a slightly thiker one and boom no more leak!! i knew i should have lookd there first before i went out and spent 100 bux, but w/e ive been running her pretty hard for a few years now so she needed a good drive train tune up!! i wasnt really going to jb weld it just some bs talk from being agitated! Thanks for the input fellas always very much apreciated !!
