2004 duramax LB7
My truck currently has 180k miles. Intake and exhaust are all that's done. The previous owner has receipts of having all 8 injectors, cups and fuel rails replaced. The truck starts and runs fine, but at idle out hazes a little white smoke. When i take of it puffs a little smoke then clears up, then at the next light the white smoke is back. I'm not losing coolant and there doesn't appear to be fuel in the oil. I'm a pretty good wrench but not sure where to begin or what else to check. The truck has a glow plug trouble code but I'm not sure exactly which code at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I'm gonna try to get the balance rates checked this week. After looking the truck over it turns out it's a Cali edition with all epa crap on it. With 4 inch exhaust and an intake. Could be the issue with it smoking?
sure can.
do a whole engine swap, the LLY harness should plug right in.
otherwise if you just wanted the injectors and fuel lines, you will also need the heads and valve covers to go with it. if you are going this far you might as well swap the engines.
04 LB7s and the LLYs should be electrically compatible and "plug and play"
check out this thread from another site, discusses the whole processes
