turbo hose question

Default turbo hose question

Yesterday i let a buddy drive my truck. He step on it at the wrong time and down shifted the tranny which blew off my turbo hose i put it back on everything seems fine but how bad is that to happen while you are driving

its hard on the turbo when that happens

It causes an instant over-speed issue which can be hard on the turbo. I doubt there will be any issues if it only happend once. Just make sure all your turbo boots are nice and tight. But, it wont hurt to take them off for a good inspection to check for leaks or degradation, every once in a while. Thats probabely the most overlooked during routine maintenance.
