I have one from a 1994 with a Diesel or a 1995 with a V-10.
The difference is that the tach is a higher RPM in the V-10 truck.

Oh yeah, do you need AUTO or 5 SPEED?

Mark.

5spd.

is the diesel a 5spd?

i'm not that picky though if i can find a reasonable cost solution, not having a speedo is silly...

how many miles on em?

also, is the v10 function identical to the diesel.... (is the tach going to read correctly, or is the needle going to travel like the diesel unit (i.e. 12 o'clock regardless of what the gauge face says...), are all parts working well? known issues?

If ALL you need is the speedometer and you can take the gauges apart to replace it, since either speedometer is the same.
The diesel cluster is auto, the V-10 is a 5 speed.
The V-10 has 210,000, can't recall on the diesel ATM.

The tachs read the same no matter the engine.
I dunno how or why, but they do.

Mark.

as long as the plugs on the rear are the same for both, I'd like stick version, i THINK the auto shift indicator is glued in, not 100% sure though...

my truck has 268k on the clock, been inop for a couple years... close mileage is preferred, my truck *looks* like it has 300k on it

....and i want that 300k cummins high-mileage badge... i found a cluster from a local place here but it has 99k on it and the guy/yard wants $300+tax for it...
