Default Stalling

I have intermittent stalling that has recently started to occur. It only happens when I make a fairly hard RIGHT Turn.

Otherwise the truck runs great - good idle speed, good acceleration.

I was hoping someone might have a clue as to where I should look. thanks- Roy

I'd look for shorted wiring? Where to look is the question.

does it stall out at any other times. hard braking? is the truck a 5 speed or auto? i can imagine what would be shorting for wires that would cause the engine to die on a hard right turn...

Do you have a tilt steering? If so there might be an issue there. I've had to fix some wiring there before.

technically there is zero electrical in the column that would shut the engine off, but keeping in line with your train of thought, once the fuel is turned on, the only way to shut it off is to shut off the fuel lever. the fuel lever is actuated by that electrical solenoid. which theoretically could lose its signal and push open? you could check it by unhooking it from the shutoff lever and taking it for a drive.

other than that , i cant think of any fuel leak related scenarios that would manifest and disappear just as quickly during a hard right turn.

what is your voltage gauge doing when this occurs? In fact, what are all your gauges doing?

I checked the wiring to the FSS and all looks good. But the rubber boot underneath is seriously decomposed. I see you can replace it alone but for an extra $20 I might be ahead just to replace the entire unit - that is providing I stay away from Napa -sheesh

I cleaned up the battery terminal connection where the fuseable link is hooked up to the positive terminal - there was some serious corrosion there and I think that could be a potential place for an intermittent short.

Thanks for all the responses -
it is automatic transmission. if I get a re-occurance I will check the gauges
