Question Lb7 with a bad knock and white smoke.

I just bought a 2002 duramax that has a real bad knock and lots of white smoke, still runs just no power and it has a lot of fuel in oil. I was thinking it could be injectors so I replaced one side (the side I think the knock was coming from) but it still done the same thing once I started it. Does this sound like injectors? Or will I be wasting money putting in the other side?

take it somewhere that can check bal. rates. theyll be able to see wich cylinder the prob is on. If rate is around 15 to 18 on a cylinder you have a dead hole. pull glow plug on that cyl. see if the tip is broke off. On one occasion I have seen the inj. hold down bolt back off and the injector got pushed out of its bore and broke the fuel return rail. Had fuel in oil, heavy fuel knock. Once you locate the problem cyl. you can figure out whats goin on.

spec is bad at + or - 4 but, anything around and over a + or - 2.5 I consider bad.
