Default LB7 Fuel Junction Block need help ASAP!!

I've got a 02 LB7 and me and a buddy are replacing the CP3 pump and noticed that the fuel junction block had some rust/pitting inside the part with the plunger and spring. We were told it needed to be replaced and just wanted to make sure before we dropped the $1100 they wanted for it. Any help would be appreciated!!

Yessiirr. Its got the alan head plug inside one end that screws out and it's got a spring and plunger with two holes in the end of it that seats inside the valve or whatever it is. It had a bunch of trash in it and a little rust. Didn't know what purpose it served or if I needed to completely replace the entire block and regulator. Was going to get a new press reg either way. Just never heard of anyone replacing it before and it costs more than the damn CP3 pump. Thanks man
