I hope someone can help. I have a 1997 6.5 diesel in a dump truck.
Dealer replaced the injector pump twice and I replaced the PMD twice with the extended cables. That work was all due to stalling problems.
Now the truck sat for 2 months and I cannot get it to run right. When it finally starts up the idle fluciates from 750 to about 1500. Then drop downs again and cycles over and over. Pushing the gas pedal there is no response. My mechanic thinks it needs a new injector pump. Anyone have an idea what it could be?

 

I'd start at electronic throttle control first.What ever happend to the days when your throttle quit and you could get home with a shoe string.
