Both will give you plenty of flow but most guys like the deeper sound of the 5".

I heard that the 5 inch will decrease the mpg. Is that true?

4" is probably all you need for a 94 to open that exhaust up enough. Do you have any mods on your truck?

5" won't hurt performance, the turbo provides enough back pressure. The only real difference is sound.

i have a custom fabricated 3 to 5 inch flange right off the turbo. my downpipe is 5 inch all the way down past the firewall and straight back. got the 5 inch from a buddy for 175 bucks. i personally like both 4 and 5 inch. i love the deep 5 inch drone at about 2100rpm but then i hear other 24v's with 4 inch straight pipe and it has a louder high pitch noise to it. they both sound badass. just preference. 4 inch is easier to fit down past firewall and doesnt take up as much space as 5 inch.
