what does it take to rebuild a ht3b turbo? is it pretty straight forward just dissassemble, clean, and replace new parts with old? or is some tricks for anything, anything to watch out for, sertain torque specs and such? ive never rebuilt a turbo. thanks for any help.

 

I did my HX35 and S471 this spring. Pretty much like you said, take apart, clean, replace, assemble.

Lay everything out in order so you know how it goes back in. Look twice before reefing on anything. Take your time. It will go well.

 

hmm alright. ill probly look up a diagram breakdown and i think ill be ok.

 

A manual would be first on the shopping list.
Little tricks like is shaft matched marked to the impeller, match mark housings.
Left hand threads?
DO NOT side load the nut or shaft when taking apart or installing the impeller nut. Using a TEE bar may help prevent side oadling when stripping apart, just care when torquing up,
Keep bearing area and shaft CLEAN.
Lube well before firing up.
Torque to specs
