Default New Truck Finally Arrived...

2008 MegaCab Laramie 3500 6.7 auto

Well, after much waiting and anticipation I have finally picked up my new truck. Man I love this new engine so far. I havent really had any time behind the wheel yet only logged about 50 miles but so far I love it! Very smooth, very quiet (for now) and the 6 speed auto shifts like a thing of beauty!! Super smooth shifts unless you are on the floor then they arent quite as smooth but they are super positive. I love the ability to control the gears now and I cant say enough about how much I like the exhaust brake.

Now the only bad thing...its little....I cant believe how much difference a few inches of lift and 35's make...

Im thinking about an 'all black' theme for this one...no badges, no chrome, black wheels, SRT-10 hood. What does everybody think?

I have decided to go with a KORE Chase system and its already ordered and on its way, then some tires of course, but I *might* go back to the 33's instead of the 35's, I cant decide!

Any opinons?

I will miss the old one, but not for long...

I am all about black trucks myself. Your other one had 35's on it didn't it?

Go with 35's

I have become partial to white trucks ever since I got my white SRT10 hood. Now I'm getting some steel ST rims to put my 285s on and I can't decide if I want to leave them silver, paint them white, or paint them black. I will be putting the chrome center caps on them along with some chrome trim rings. Man this is a tough decision. I may have to mount the tires and then experiment with painting them to truly know which one I like best.

Congrats on your new truck. I'm loving mine so far. I still can't get over how cool the exhaust brake feature is............

Yeah, I have run the Dodge/Jacobs brake in my duallys but I think this one works even better. I havent had a bunch of time to play yet, but it seems great.!

About the rims, I dont know, but I have this monochrome bug lately...I have seen an all red truck, wheels, bumpers, etc and it looked great, I have seen all black which is what I think Im gonna go for but never all white, it might be real hot to have a white truck, white wheels and such, the only thing that bothers me is every time I think of white wheels it reminds me of the old white spokes we all had when we were kids...
