Im running my 6.5 on 50% green diesel and 50% used engine oil. belive it or not it fixed almost every issue with it, no more white smoke, no more rough starts much more power and 30 mpg in a 1 ton to boot. anybody have any pros or cons on this? twenty thousand miles on this mix and no engine trouble yet. still looking for more power though. let me know guys

 

The mechanical IP engines tolerate this very well,just be sure to filter the fuel down to 5 microns or less.

The electronic IP engines have been known to have issues with the optical sensor getting clouded in the IP from fuels that are not refined diesel.

Canadian gallon is bigger than US gallon,but not 10 miles bigger.

 

Canadian gallon I think they measure in liters up north

 

We have both imperial gallons and liters,US gallons as well on some containers.

That said miles per gallon is still the most commonly understood mileage term-just isn't always understood that it should be done in US gallons.

Liters per 100 kilometers is less understood or used.At least less used by me.

Figured it was interesting info,didn't realize there was almost 3/4 liter difference between US and imperial gallon.

 

The reason it adds performance and fuel economy is because fuel refineries nowadays use less crude oil in diesel fuels. Oil is the second main ingredient in diesel fuel. Used for lubricant for start up and running. It also fills in microscopic spaces between the moving parts. It also stays coated in the cylinder after shut down so that the cylinders are not dry when starting.

 

If i make a mistake with the used oil and cloud that sensor, can it be changed, or would i need a whole pump.... I have a 1995 6.5L turbo.... will my IP be picky?
I am still shocked that this can be done and am very excited, as it will save me money.
