Riding in my buddies truck today I noticed that his gauge doesn't move like mine does. When I key-on it comes to 60psi and when I start it and idle it'll vary from 60-65, normal driving will go from ~62-68. I had thought that this was normal given that each time an injector fires it relieves some of the pressure. His is dead locked between 60 and 65 and never moves from what I can tell. Whose gauge is wrong?

 

mine moves around sometimes. Varies between 60 and 65psi at idle and has dropped to 50psi under heavy load. Bounces around 60-62 most of the time idling. Doesn't bother me.

 

it depends on type of guage, mechanical or electric. If mechanical then it depends on if it is standard or liquid filled.

 

Yeah what gauges? My Isspro EV2's are super sensitive and move non stop. Mine has seen as high as 100psi (veggie system) and as low as 20's... (hot tunes).

 

He's running AutoMeters, I'm running ISSPROs, I don't know much about his truck, just got worried about my baby...I'm still a little paranoid that running my bat-trees so low for so long screwed something up and every little noise and irregular gauge movement soils my pants a little

 

Both gauges are probably right, but those Isspro's are stupid sensitive, they use stepper motors that seems to fluctuate almost non stop. You can hear the motor working inside when you turn the key on and the truck isn't running yet.

 

My autometer z series gauge uses a motor as well. And moves like i said. Its an electric FP gauge.

 

I use Auto Meter Sport Comp in my Souper Doody. My fuel PSI is pretty solid at 60~62 unless I have my foot in it. Idle and cruise though, it doesn't move.
