old 6.5 TD to newer 6.5 NA parts compatability
I have a '93 6.5 turbo diesel that needs rebuilding but am worried about it being cracked. So i've located a low mileage 6.5 Natural diesel out of a van and would like to swap my parts onto it. But I don't know what is different between the two engines. Have been told that the intake bolts are on a different angle and the injectors are different but I need to know what is involved. The block is the very same,a picture of the na would also help out with letting us know what version it is.
The van turbo engines were like h1 engines with a center mount turbo,60 degree cylinder heads and matching intake,whereas the truck engine had sidemount turbo 90 degree heads and matching intake.
