I have a bad Alternator on my 1989 C 2500 6.2. I noticed that they have a large selection of different amperage alternators that will work. Is this the same old trick bigger is better, or more amperage more power. What is the stock alternator amperage????

Any help would be appreciated.

 

not sure about a 89 6.2 but stock for a 6.5 is 105 amps.

Bigger is better but also takes more power to turn when producing its rated output,although it depends on the electrical draw how much output is required.
