new here, just bought a 03 duramax 3500hd two weeks ago, had a banks automind progamer on it when i got it, i uped the tire size from 215 85s to 235 85s hit the road with an empty stock trailer yesterday and when it hit fifth it fell into limp mode and i had to let it reset, i was told by a gm mec. to just loose the tuner if i want to tow, is there anything (short of pulling the tranny and haveing a big upgrade put in) mabe a shift kit of some kind i can do. what is the best bang for the buck so to speak?

 

Not sure I completely understand the question but ditch the banks and go with good EFI Live DSP5 tow tuning, you will be glad you did

 

i guess my concern is that no matter what the tune- my fifth still wont hold, so is there anything besides internal work(valve body/ electrical parts) that will make fifth not slip when towing with a tune. ----- I should probly also state that the pickup also has five inch straight pipe exaust, cold intake, and suposedltg 80 horse injectors- although i dont know how to verify this, i bought the the truck from some guys ex girlfreind, she said she had paperwork on them, but what she gave me would be more efective as toilet paper
