Default shift kit or built tranny?

Im looking to upgrade my tranny to hold more power but dont have the cash right now to do a built tranny, are the shift kits worth the money instead of a built tranny? im only looking for 450-500rwhp

i would say the shift kit (trans go jr.) is good for about 120~150 max over stock. but that might be pushing the life if the transmission a bit

i would save up for a complete rebuild if you are thinking of doing anything above about 450 HP

for me i think my built transmission may be the best upgrade i have done to my truck. it feels so solid with out any slipping, etc under any load
