Towing
Alright guys little question here. Just bought my 2008 6.4, has the spartan and 4 inch exhaust on it. Getting ready to go to the deer woods and am curious what i should expect from this thing towing. I pull a 29ft camper that weighs about 6500 and a polaris ranger on a trailer behing it should weigh around 2500 so a total of 9000. Before this truck i pulled it with a f150 with a 5.4 in it did ok but was realy grunting going up some of the hills. Also what kind of mpg can i expect towing i got 7 with by gas burner..
yea the 5.4 does it but it sure strains alot. I just got back from doing a little deer hunting and towed my camper with the four wheeler in the back of the truck. With all the water and supplies i was probably looking at around 9500. Let me just say this diesel is SWEET. I under stand its not a race car but i had some idiot in a prius drivin like a maniac so i thought i would screw with him and not let him pass. When i finaly let off i looked down and was running 100 and didn't realize it. Figured thats a good time to go ahead and let off and let him pass me. A diesel is the only way to go.
