Default tranny help?

I have a 97 with 227k on it an auto trans and it has a shift kit, i bought the truck a few months ago and I am not sure if the way it shifts is normal.. 1 to 2 it shifts around 2100 to 2300 rpms seems a little high to me, now in second gear it seems to have 2 shift points it will act like its going to shift than drop acouple hundred rpms accelerate back up and than it will shift to 3rd gear provides good power during all of this, almost like 2nd gear has two gears if that makes since at all. I appreciate any help or advice
thanks!

It makes sense, I believe your talking about the converter lock up which is normal..

The actual shift point seems high unless you are really into the accelerator in which it's fine. It really depends on how much throttle is being applied...
