Default Coolant/oil temp gauges still important? Egr delete and oil cooler done.

Hello guys, my 06 6liter fx4 just had an egr delete and oil cooler done as well as some injectors. I also have a sct tuner with some modest tunes for the unstudded heads. Is it as critical now , with the new oil cooler, to monitor the coolant and oil temp differential? . Most clusters have room for 3 gauges and I was thinking 1) EGT - because of the tuner 2) fuel pressure - to prevent injector damage 3) transmission temp- for when I haul (rarely) our equip trailer of 10000lbs. I have a factory boost gauge in the cluster. Looking at isspro or autometer. Any tips will help. The truck is a daily driver with 125000mi on it. Thanks!

If you add a coolant filter then the guages wouldn't be so important, a coolant filter is the only thing that can prevent the cooler from clogging again.

Roger that. My research on the topic has definitely shown the coolant filter can greatly reduce the risk of oil cooler failure and if the additional oil and coolant temp gauges cost roughly the same as the filter kit then it's a no brainier. I guess my next question is what is the recommendation on filters? I've been reading about the sinister kit....any thoughts?

If it's a factory replacement oil cooler then it is still susceptible to clogging. A full out cooling system flush and a coolant filter will eliminate that issue.

Sinister kit is awesome, absolutely love it, about a 10 minute install and a $120 price that can't be beat

Its still nice to have coolant gauge just in case. You can get a 4 gauge pod also or a sct.

Obviously not as critical, but IMO still some good gauges to have.

The coolant filter kits are basically all the same, pick your favorite color.

If space is the main thing holding you back from getting temp gauges then install an F650 lower dash. That's what I'm doing, put 2 down there and swap the a-pillar to a quad so I can get rid of my overhead pod

Sinister kit ordered. Thanks a bunch guys. May also go with the four gauge cluster and add the ECT . Unless there is no point to have ECT withou EOT?

Here's an idea for you, order a second temp sensor and have the one gauge read both. Power and ground leads would get hooked up normally, but have your sensor wires go to a switch so you can read one, then flip the switch and the other temp shows. I'm thinking of it when I do my lower dash so they I can keep my factory trailer brake.

I wonder if there is a way to hook into the existing temp sensors on the truck? I mean the sensors are good, the gauges they're hooked to suck.
