I just got this nice *** 97 f250 standard cab manual with 207xxx mile on it run real good what type of trans is it called never really been into diesel to much what should i look in to doing to it better fuel and little more power nothing crazy

 

Should be a ZF-5

 

zf s5-47 i think is the actual model of your trans...

As for better fuel economy, not really much you can do besides maintenance. Change the fluids, filters, make sure your tires are at the right pressures, brakes are good...etc... A chip would be a good addition for about 60rwhp...

 

ok cool to easy the fuel econmy ive been getting highway mostly havent seen city has been 20-23 which i think is damn good the tank is 15 front and 20 rear right. havent filled up rear yet so not sure on that also I can not find a service manual for 97 in a diesel they all are gas what up with that? thanks again
