Default what are you running?

i have ran mobile 1 oil but its also almost $30 a gallon, so i switched to 15W40 rotella t 6 because thats what the local delership uses and now my lifters are noisy as he#@, but its a lot cheaper!!! what have you ran and what works best and quietest for you?

I'm thinking bout switching to the valvoline premium blue 15w-40.. recommended by cummins.. ill give it a shot... Im running rotella 15w-40 right now..

Ii run valvoline synthetic. Cummins recommends that if you run synthetic use a 5-40, 15-40 for conventional.

this is good info that i wish dodge would have told me, they just said 15-40 and like i said it drives me nuts with the ticking towards the back of the block, closest to the firewall. (lifters were adjusted when i installed new injectors) so i know its not one of those and it has to be the oil.

I have heard of this before, just use the oil you did before.

Rotella T-6 5w-40 syn. and never had any issues. Been running it for over 6 years, year around, towing or not. I change the oil every 7k miles religiously.

i run the valvoline also, i used to run the rotela in my fords, although last oil change i went cheapy n got a 5 gallon jug of 15 40 coastal which my dad runs in his macks and peterbuilts. but nxt change im going back to valvoline its cummins approved/recomended which is all i need to kno.

How do ya like it?? Cause it seems like rotella just doesn't hold up for me... Unless I've been getting some shitty rotella... I've never had a problem with it before but this past change it just seemed like it last very long
