swap DT466E to DT466 in 1999 4700 6speed
I have recently bought a 4700 1999 with a odometer froze at 260k. It runs rough untill it warms up but when is does warm up it runs descent. My question is since I have unknown miles on her if I should go ahead and swap out for a mechanical and hopefully eleminate problems down the road. This is my first thread with this so any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
the 466e have bad injector problems and cheap wiring harness's ,but when running are a good engine ,the 466 mech is tough to beat i run both and the old mech is a 275 hp engine the e is a 300 hp ,the mech gives way better mpg's then the e doing the exact same job,if you have a mech engine it may be worth the while to chane it,the mech are also alot cheaper to rebuild
Ya, I have heard that from other people also. Furthermore the mech is easier to turn up while the E is somewhat limited I understand.
How is the swap itself.........pretty straight forward or just plan on everything not matching up right.

If you can, go to a truck wrecking yard, and get all the parts(pedal & throttle cable, and a TPS for the trans) from a 94-95 4700. Get an engine 93 or newer(NGD, also called DT466P), and it'll bolt right up. It'll be pretty easy to swap, once you get all the pieces.
