Default programmer? Chip?

I know that every breed of diesel is partial to a certain set of upgrades, what works the best for a LLY? which brands get the best combo of power and economy? I have been told bully dog, and superchip, but I want to do my homework on this first

stay away from both Bullydog and Superchips

First things first, what are your plans for the truck? then we can help point you in the right direction

I personally have the Edge Juice w/ Attitude. I like that it's got all the gauges on one screen, on the fly adjustment and it does well on power delivery too. If I had to do it over again (from peoples suggestions) I'd go with PPE. It was my next option the first go around.

EFI AutoCal, Kory who does our duramax tuning runs 12 second in a stock duramax with nothing but tuning. Always upgrade able, never stuck with factory tunes. Upgrade tuning as you upgrade the truck. as cheap as most tuners too.

Anything over about 90hp above stock will shorten the life of your transmission.

me personally wouldn't use anything other then EFI Live.

the LLY can also benefit from an air intake upgrade. The stock one is known to be quite restrictive.

Yup. Changing the mouthpiece will help you out quite a bit

Stock intakes usually are pretty crappy, and always have been on anything. I will look into all of the aforementioned programming options

x2 on the EFI live, nothing compares! As for the intake upgrades, I would look at the afe turbo mouthpiece. That's what I will be looking to get after I do EFI Live and exhaust on my truck.
