Default need some expert advice

I just bought a bone stock 2008 F350 powerstroke and I'm not sure where to start. I'm not looking for crazy power gains. Mainly want good towing power, decent mpg, and reliability. Any suggestions?

What Dustin said. H&S is by far the easiest and best for the ford 6.4s. Do a dpf delete, and egr delete, and call it good to go.

Care to explain that a little more? What exactly do you mean by best?

Myself, I'd be getting an SCT with Innovative custom tuning. That or Matt @ Gearhead.

Ironically enough, the hottest tunes offer the best mileage, if you can keep your foot out of it. I know a lot of guys tow on 210hp tunes quite reliably. Make sure you get a good set of gauges or a pod/monitor. Most use the SCT livewire, the Spartan dashdaq or something along those lines. SCT has a new touch screen monitor out, that'd be the way I go myself.

If you do go with an H&S unit, call up Mike @ KEM and get some custom tuning on it. The only problem with the H&S unit is Mike is the ONLY guy who writes custom tunes for it, where with the SCT you have lots of options.

Just my opinion...

I would also take the VIN and make sure it has all the upates. Early job 1 08's had quite a few changes. Radiators and injectors being the big ones. Do you know which job you have?

Just going by what customers have told me. That they like H&S above the rest on the 6.4 liters. It's easy to download compared to spartan and not knowledgeable on the sct for those. Not many people I know running sct for a 6.4.

Custom tuning is always better no doubt as you see both of my DD trucks have custom efi live tunes. That being said tho not every customer needs or wants custom tuning. The majority of people want a simple programmer. What i took from the OP's post was that and thats why i did not suggest custom tuning.

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

Thanks for all the input. I'm not sure what job it is but it did have a radiator recall that was fixed by the previous owner. I like the simplicity of the h&s so that is probably the route i will go.
