Default Stumped with my recent dyno numbers

ok so i recently got my truck dynoed and it put down 288/512 and last year at about this time it dynoed at 332/715. im not sure what has happened. most of my mods are in my sig and everything has pretty muched remained the same except for the following..

built A518 instead of the 727
holley black fuel pump
custom intake horn
and i back almost all the way with the star wheel to help with my mpgs instead of almost all the way down until i get a M3 fuel pin. the M5 is too smokey around town.

i was hoping for a little better numbers cuz of the stronger tranny i have now so i dont know whats up. just driving the truck it feels like im gettin more power to the ground than before. i had them dyno it in and out of o/d and it was pretty much the same cuz i thought the 3:07 gears was a little much for the o/d.

one other thing is it was 2 different type of trailer dynoes. the recent one was a trailer dyno and the other one was a different type of setup that beans diesel uses.

any imput would be great. thanks

Its hard to compare readings from 2 different dynos. If the dyno isnt able to load the truck to make it pull hard and create resistance you will get a low reading. This is why its recommended if you are going to constantly be tuning and changing things its suggested to stick with one dyno. If they would have rode the brakes to get the motor under load and turbi spooled in 3rd gear you probably would have saw bettwr results.

no the tc isnt stock. its got a pretty well built A518 now and the tc is an upgraded low stall converter. he ran it with o/d on and i figured that with the 3.07 gears would be enough load but i guess not. i will def just stick with the same dyno tho. only thin that sucks is the first dyno only comes around once a year

Could be to I've found which the star wheel all the way up the spring pressure is to high n won't allow the fuel pin to travel all the way down.

My starwheel is at the top of the post, and the pin still get's full travel. Only way to tell is to drive it after adjusting then pull it out to look at where the pin is riding.

ya it was getting full travel. i put a dab of grease on it every time i have it out to check and make sure. it doesnt take much for the m5 fuel pin to be at full full anyway. one thing i did find tho was my fuel pedel was getting caught up on the new floor cover and insulation i put in during the restoration. its a custom aluminum diamond plate pedal my dad made so i cut the bottom corner off and i get full rpms now. i think that was a big part of the problem. now i can rev to 3200 rpm no prob.

Sounds like the lower # is an uncorrected # and the higher # was corrected
