When I bought my truck the driver's side rear door would not lock and the speaker was inop. I read somewhere that Dodge made the wires to short and this is a common problem. Took the door apart and this is what I found. The broken wires are on the door and not on the cab. I hope this can help someone. I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this but here is a pic.

 

had the same problem. i had to cut my boot open and slice the wires and then tap the boot up. its not if it happens its when it happens and it will happen again.

 

Yup I fixed 7 broken wires in mine.

 

Your right...it has happened again. Light will not turn on when door is opened. The window and speaker still work so I'm leaving it alone for now
