so a buddy of mine has an '09 Chevy 2500. he likes the ride but isnt in love with the stock power. he had a '04 Ford F-350 with 6'' stacks, an airraid intake and some big program in which gave it some serious power. i have a Cummins and have no idea of what can release the Duramax's potential. any suggestions on what upgrades to bring out the Duramax's true colors??

will the EFI open it up? i saw a few different h&s and ppe, preference?

 

Efi will do more then just open it up it lets you have a total variation of different tunes that can do different things..he will get the most power out of efi

 

Exactly, there are quite a few reputable shops around that can tune it for him if he doesn't want to learn it himself

Just check around, there is a lot of info on it, ask around in the vendors section, im sure someone can hook him up

I currently run a DSP5 tune and switch and tuning from duramaxtuner and the 5 tunes range from stock power all the way to 415rwhp(about all the stock trans can take) and there are a couple tow tunes with exhaust braking in there also

Its absolutely amazing what EFI live can do with this engine

 

EFI live. Us Dmax guys and 06-09 cummins guys lucky we can still turn off all the goodies.and still make good changes to do nice power and fuel mileage. also can tune TCU with efi also. EPA stepped in with H&S and some other companies that have software preprogrammed to delete dpf and egrs

 

EFI live is eliminating any programming abilities what deal with the DPF, the EPA also confronted them

If you have a V2 with DPF elimination abilities I suggest not updating the software to the most current
