Hey guys, my old man has an 07 classic gmc and is wanting to know how to get better mileage out of it, I figured this would be a good place to start asking since I have minimal knowledge of the duramax. Its usually only deiven when pulling a trailer. So far we've put an s&b CAI on it and cut the cat out. Are there any other tricks for these trucks or is a programmer the next step? If so which one do you guys recommend?

2006 Duramax with an Edge tuner in towing mode.

 

EFI live with some towing tunes will help with power and mileage, plus you can setup the LBZ to use the turbo as a turbine brake, I love mine

 

I forgot to mention I have the BD Diesel Brake worked like a champ coming down off the Mullan Pass in Idaho. My fifth wheel weighs 12,900. Put the Allison in manual and in towing in 4th never saw over 55 mph all the way down the pass. Didn't touch the brakes.
