Default Band help

Hey guys I have a buddy that is having front band problems

Is there a complete walkthrough on how to adjust the front band on the transmission? It is bottomed out and isn't tightening at all. I followed it to the letter. 5 turns out and then the torx just wouldn't tighten, it kept going down with no tension.

Thanks guys,
12VAP

He needs a band most likely. Time for a rebuild!

He is gonna bring it over tomorrow so we can drop the pan and assess the damages. Has anyone here installed a
Suncoast band kit? Is it really worth it?

It was lugging not entering 2nd and jumping straight into 3rd after you let off the gas before we tried to adjust the band.

Then we backed it out 5 turns and went to tighten the torx and it just kept on runnin down. Hopefully the band just jumped or the torx wasn't threading.

Gonna drop the pan tomorrow and see what's going on. Man I Need a truck lift.

Hopefully you find the anchor in the pan if not your going to have to drop the tranny to replace that band! Suntoast not worth it just get a good stock band. As said above if you did wear out the band then a rebuild is probably needed!

X2 the rebuild kit is awesome but just for bands no way. However the billet apply and lever are a must.

Trust me if it was my truck I would have picked up on it a long time ago

I'm looking at a slip on band that you don't have to drop the tranny to put in
